VARIATION ACROSS CONTEXTS

Students will be able to identify, analyze, and reflect on variation in rhetorical and linguistic patterns, including their own, from a range of contexts (e.g cultural, digital, workplace, and/or academic).

This section highlights my ability to recognize and reflect on how rhetorical and linguistic choices shift across different contexts, including academic, workplace, and digital environments. By analyzing these variations—both in my own writing and in the genres I’ve encountered—I demonstrate an awareness of how language and tone must adapt to meet the expectations, purposes, and audiences specific to each setting.

Specifically, in Unit 2, I had the opportunity to explore a range of rhetorical and linguistic contexts, both within my own community and those of my peers. Through this exploration, I gained deeper insight into how different environments—such as workplace or cultural settings—influence rhetorical choices. To illustrate this understanding, I have included an example of an idea exchange as well as my project reflection from this unit that demonstrates my ability to analyze and reflect on the rhetorical strategies employed across varied contexts.
